West Ham United have enjoyed a very successful campaign this year and can still finish in the top four if results of the remaining matches go their way.

They are currently sitting sixth on the Premier League table, but are only four points away from Manchester City in fourth, with a game in hand still to play.

Despite where they finish this season, manager Slaven Bilic has built a rather impressive squad, but will surely be looking for more additions to complete his team ahead of the new season.

The Hammers will surely not change their playing style, but are expected to reinforce all areas of their team as they look to improve even more.

Bilic can even benefit from a few free transfers this summer or even decide to spend some money to improve his squad even further.

So, can these five Premier League players help West Ham reach the top four, and even mount a shocking title charge?

Michael Carrick

Carrick INJ

Position: Midfielder

Age: 34

Club: Manchester United

Michael Carrick is a player that could be available on a free transfer during the summer given that he is yet to discuss the terms of an extension with Manchester United.

Having risen through their youth academy, he could be interested in a possible return to add some experience for manager Slaven Bilic.

The midfielder is still seen as a key member for United, but given his age, the club could decide to part ways with his services to make room for other alternatives. His potential addition to the Hammers squad could give attacking players more freedom to roam up as Carrick is likely to be used more defensively.

Kieran Trippier

Position: Right Back

Age: 25

Club: Tottenham Hotspur

Kieran Trippier has been finding it very hard to overtake Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker as Pochettino's regular right-back, a factor that could push him for an exit.

West Ham United already had success loaning Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal last season, but lost him this term due to injury.

Manager Slaven Bilic could consider his addition in order to move current right-back Michail Antonio further up the pitch where he is more effective.

Trippier’s potential arrival could see him compete with January signing Sam Byram for a permanent role in the back line.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones

Position: Centre Back

Age: 24

Club: Manchester United

Phil Jones could be a more realistic target for West Ham United compared to recently linked Manchester United star Chris Smalling. With Smalling and Daley Blind impressing over the course of the campaign, the centre-back could fall further behind in the defensive pecking order.

Jones has constantly been hit with various injuries problems, which has prevented him from holding down a regular role under manager Louis van Gaal this term.

However, should he accept a move to West Ham, he could have another opportunity to prove his worth. He has only featured in 10 league games this season.

Theo Walcott

Position: Forward

Age: 27

Club: Arsenal

Theo Walcott would be a very good addition for West Ham United given his experience with Arsenal at the top level. However, he has struggled for game time this season under manager Arsene Wenger and may need to leave to be able to get regular football.

Wenger could even decide to cash in on Walcott given that he has a younger version of the England star in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is only 22.

Signing Walcott would surely give the Hammers players another speedy outlet when executing the counter-attack.

Wilfried Bony

Position: Striker

Age: 27

Club: Manchester City

Wilfried Bony has been unable to overtake Manchester City star Sergio Aguero to a role up top, but who blames him, given he is competing with one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League. West Ham United are known to be in the market for another forward, with Bony a very reasonable addition.

He has only managed to register 13 league starts for City this season, scoring four goals, but given that he has already proven his abilities in the English top flight, he would need no time to adapt should he accept a move to join the Hammers.

Apart from that, he may even be available for a cut-price fee given his huge lack of playing time.
