When a club ends an abysmal losing run with a last-minute win, the customary emotion is jubilation.

But in the context of West Ham's season, such a scenario last night didn't lead to ecstasy on the London Stadium terraces.

Indeed, the Hammers' move to a shiny new home was meant to usher in a new era in east London, one filled with attacking football, an abundance of raucous support, European adventures and maybe even silverware, but it's not panning out as planned.

West Ham were knocked out of the Europa League by Astra Giurgiu, for the second time, and haven't claimed a point in the Premier League since the second week of the season. In fact, they've conceded a whopping 11 goals in their last three league games.

So last night's last-minute win in the League Cup, courtesy of a Dimitri Payet free kick, should have brought some relief.

But it's the nature of the performance against League Two side Accrington Stanley that's encapsulated negative feelings around the London Stadium.

Despite progression to the fourth round of the League Cup, Hammers supporters still aren't happy. Some want Slaven Bilic to be given his marching orders!
