Matt Jarvis believes November will be a critical month for West Ham, as they face their most difficult series of fixtures since returning to the Premier League. The Hammers currently sit in 9th place with fourteen points from nine games; however their league standing could take a hit as they prepare to face Manchester City next weekend.

The following fixtures are also unkind to West Ham, who also will take on Newcastle, Stoke, Tottenham and Man United next month, not to mention Chelsea and Liverpool in the first two weeks of December.

The Hammers’ winger has told reporters: “We have had a great start to the season which has given us confidence but we have a really tough run of games now.

“November is going to be difficult. This is where we will get a taste of how we are going to do this season because you discover how much strength in depth you have over periods like this.

"It's a tough division and this is going to be an important time but so far we have all worked hard to get into this position we are in.

“I'm sure collectively we can continue to do well” he added.

Jarvis arrived at Upton Park in the summer, bought by Sam Allardyce from Wolves for £7.5million. The left midfielder has been impressed with Big Sam’s managerial approach, using statistics to analyse player’s performances and determine the weaknesses of opposing teams.

“Sam has put his own mix on things and a lot of his ideas are very heavy on stats.

"We have meetings about the opposition but he looks at our stats on set-pieces and everything else.

"It works for him and everyone is buying into it. It's the first time I have had this approach. He really likes it and I think it shows in what we do, there's no place to hide."

Jarvis will no-doubt be hoping his boss can work-out some statistical flaws in the Premier League’s top teams as West Ham prepare for a tough six weeks ahead.
