West Ham‘s medical team may have to consider wrapping club record signing Andy Carroll in bubble wrap in future after his latest injury scare.

Fresh off the back of an eight month stint on the sidelines with a foot injury, and then a three match ban, Carroll has been a welcome boost to the Hammers’ rise up the Premier League table in recent weeks.

But Hammers fans were watching through their fingers after the striker, who replaced Carlton Cole in only the 28th minute of their 1-0 loss to Everton, painfully dislocated a finger. The big man popped it back in without any trouble and it shouldn’t keep him out of any more games, but you can’t help but fear the worst when he hurts himself.
