Following news that occasional England international Micah Richards is set to reject a contract extension at Manchester City, the Daily Mail have claimed that West Ham are preparing a bid for the versatile defender.
The 25 year-old contributed a vital six assists to the Citizens’ first Premier League title, but a combination of persistent injuries and the rise in stature of Pablo Zabaletta has seen him make just nine appearances in the top flight over the last two seasons.
His game-time looks set to take another slash next year, with the impending Etihad arrival of Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna.
Resultantly, the East London side are reportedly preparing a bargain-bid for Richards, with just a year left on his current City contract.
But as Sam Allardyce is charged with the task of evolving West Ham’s traditional style via the transfer market this summer, it’s unlikely the former Three Lions right-back will be his only purchase in the coming transfer window.
With that in mind, here’s a list of SIX reported Hammers targets who could follow Richards to Upton Park – some inspired by his arrival, others more coincidental.
