Dimitri Payet has shot to relevance over the last twelve months.

Having displayed exceptional talent on an inconsistent basis whilst playing for Marseille and Lille, Payet produced a world class season in 2015/16 to catch the eye of many a football fan and pundit. His stellar form continued into the European Championships this summer and was on the verge of becoming a national hero after a couple of show-stopping efforts.

The increasingly ambitious West Ham, however, have had to watch the rumour mill wind-up the potential Payet transfer saga all summer. Whatever Payet says, whatever Bilic says, there will continue to be murmurings of a transfer, you'd imagine. Once a player reaches the consistent level of performance that Payet has, it is natural that wealthier clubs will begin to snoop.

What could be next for Payet? Another brilliant season with West Ham? A big money end of career move?

Well, the transfer is certainly not out of the question, is it? Here are THREE who could yet sign him...

Bayern Munich

Carlo Ancelotti has not produced the same fireworks in his first transfer window with Bayern Munich as some may have expected. Aside from the business they shrewdly completed before the European Championship, there has been a limited amount of investment.

Dimitri Payet could be the ideal addition for Bayern, as they look to battle with the resurgent Borussia Dortmund. The loss of Mario Gotze, despite the signing of Renato Sanches, has weakened the team's creative options and Payet could become an integral figure for the Bavarian giants.

Payet's quality is there for all to see and he is the sort of entertainer that Ancelotti would love to manage.

Juventus

After all the investment in Allegri's side this summer, you would be surprised if the Old Lady opted to make another big splash in the transfer market. Payet would unquestionably be extremely costly, but he could be that creator - if used centrally in their diamond - to make all the difference in the Champions League.

Whilst Miralem Pjanic will take some of the responsibility to fill the void left by Paul Pogba, Payet would be an astonishing addition for Juve. His spark and ability to produce the extraordinary would add yet another dimension to the Juventus side.

Arsenal

Arsene Wenger

With the Gunners still in desperate need of a marquee signing to appease the increasingly angry fans, you cannot rule out a move for Dimitri Payet. As other targets sign new contracts, move elsewhere or look to have lost interest, Arsene Wenger could make a shock move for Payet towards the end of this summer's window.

Walcott and Chamberlain have failed to make the right-wing berth their own and there is no reason that Payet couldn't switch flanks. Equally gifted on both feet, the former Marseille man might be tempted into a transfer with the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

Alexis Sanchez could even move to centre-forward if Payet was signed to slot in at his more natural position on the left.

Don't go putting any money on this one, but there's a chance.
