The Hammers were more than a match for United at Old Trafford and could have even ended up snatching a point had with Carlton Cole and Modibo Maiga, not going too far off scoring with their chances.
The East London side have a treacherous December fixture list awaiting them and will need all their spirit and determination about them if they are to add further points onto the board.
Sam Allardyce’s side are due to face Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, and with the side suffering their first back to back losses of the season they will be keen to avoid a December slump.
Demel is aware that if his side put in a similar performance at Upton Park this weekend against Chelsea they have a great chance of getting something from the game.
He told the club’s official website after last night’s match “If we play like that against Chelsea and are more clever in front of goal, we have a chance to win the game.
“Chelsea are a similar team to Manchester United, but they were worried last night. You couldn’t hear their fans. At home this weekend I think we will push forward more.
“We don’t need to hide because we have an opportunity to win the game.”
Allardyce will be boosted by the return of Mark Noble on Saturday with the Hammers squad stretched to its limit currently, with members of the academy making the bench yesterday.
