West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is still on a desperate hunt for a left back after his latest bid for Montpellier defender Henri Bedimo was rejected, according to the Daily Mail.

Allardyce is set to go back in for the 28 year old over the weekend but the Cameroon international’s club have laughed off the initial £1.75million bid from the East Enders.

It is no secret that the Hammers are desperate to land a left back before the end of the transfer window on Thursday with first choice George McCartney a long term absentee and youngster Dan Potts recovering from a serious concussion from Wednesday nights humiliation at the Emirates.

Blackburn wing back Martin Olsson was Allardyce’s prime target this month but big spending Rovers have set an extortionate asking price leading the Hammers boss to look elsewhere.

West Ham could go into Wednesday’s game at Fulham with just four fit senior defenders.
