West Ham are expected to announce the arrival of Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson within the next twenty four hours, according to talkSPORT.
The Hammers are hoping to complete a season-long loan move for the Gunners right-back to make him their sixth summer acquisition.
And Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that a deal for the youngster is edging closer.
He said: “We’re interested in signing Carl Jenkinson.
“I’m hoping it’s going to be completed in the next twenty four hours. We’re hoping it’s all going to be OK.”
Jenkinson has turned down advances from Swansea, Hull City and Sunderland to ensure he stays in London.
Hull had offered Arsenal £3million to take the England international to the KC Stadium permanently, but the Gunners are only willing to allow the 22-year-old to leave on loan.
Jenkinson joins Mauro Zarate, Cheikhou Kouyate, Aaron Cresswell, Diego Poyet and Enner Valencia as West Ham’s new faces ahead of the new Premier League season.
