West Ham boss Sam Allardyce could be lining up a shock move for ex-Bolton player Ricardo Gardner.
Gardner, who is nicknamed Bibi, is currently a free agent after severing ties with Bolton last summer after 14 years of being at the club. He is currently on the Premier League‘s list of released players.
It is thought that West Ham had previously tried to sign the star in the summer of 2011 but the player turned the deal down preferring to stay at Bolton. He didn’t feel he could relocate at the time and wanted to finish his career at the Reebok Stadium.
The Jamaican player is 34-years-old and plays in the left-wing position but can also play in centre of midfield or as a wing-back – the position he played most towards the end of his Bolton career. Gardner also played for his national team and was considered a very important and strong player in their team, taking part in last years Caribbean Cup.
Big Sam has previously managed Gardner during his 8 year stint at Bolton and is said to be keen to work with the player again. Gardner could be the experienced player West Ham need and any help with their quest for survival will be welcomed.
