West Ham have been handed fresh hope in their pursuit of AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang, according to London24.

The 19-year-old was reportedly close to sealing a season-long loan move to Upton Park before being told by his agent Stephane Courbis that he didn’t believe West Ham would be the right move Niang.

But Courbis has since hinted that a move to East London is still on the cards and believes his AC Milan future depends on whether new manager Filippo Inzaghi wants him at the club.

He said: “At the moment we don’t know yet if Niang will remain at AC Milan.

“We met with the club about a month ago and now we’ll have to talk to the new coach. I can confirm that West Ham like him.”

It is believed further meetings with West Ham are to take place this week, as well as discussions with AC Milan, before Niang makes a decision on his future.
