Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready for a defensive clear-out with Dawson and Romanian Vlad Chiriches believed to be two off the players to make way, and apparently Sam Allardyce is keen to bring the former England international to Upton Park.
Allardyce is considering a move for the 30-year-old as he aims to push the Hammers back up towards the European places this season.
Hull boss Steve Bruce is also thought to be interested in signing Dawson but West Ham are in poll position to bring him to the club.
Pochettino looks set to bring in Sevilla’s Federico Fazio as his third defensive recruit of the summer, following the signings of Ben Davies from Swansea and Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon.
Dawson has found himself relegated to the Spurs bench for the first two games of the season, and he is keen to get some first-team football under his belt.
Spurs signed Dawson back in 2005 and he has since played 324 times for the club.
Having lost to Tottenham on the first day of the Premier League season, Allardyce looks likely to bring in more new signings in order to help ease the growing pressure on him.
