West Ham have been offered the chance to sign Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero, according to MailOnline.
Montero, 24, has been a target for the likes of Wigan, Cardiff and Swansea in recent years, while he has also been a reported target for Juventus and Napoli.
Sam Allardyce is in the market for more attacking players after being told by the Hammers’ board that he must improve the club’s style of play or face the axe next term.
And he has already responded by signing Maruro Zarate of Velez Sarsfield and Anderlecht’s Cheikhou Kouyate, as well as brining in Teddy Sheringham as a forward’s coach.
And at £5million, Montero would prove to be good value for money, and also leave Allardyce with £8m still to play with for more reinforcements.
Meanwhile, the Hammers are also looking at highly-rated winger Marco Asensio of Real Mallorca, who has recently been watched by the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
