West Ham are plotting a January move for Atletico Madrid forward Leo Baptistao, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 21-year-old ace only joined the La Liga high-flyers over the summer, but has been unable to make a huge impact with a number of the club’s other attacking talents having been impressive.

With only one league outing under his belt and Jose Sosa set to join Atletico in the coming weeks, Baptistao is set to leave the Vicente Calderon on loan, which has alerted the Hammers.

Sam Allardyce’s side slipped to 19th position after yesterday’s future, with their 19 goal tally a contributing factor to the lowly position.

With Andy Carroll still some way from being ready for action, ‘Big Sam’ is desperate to bolster his frontline, with January business expected.

Baptistao could be snapped up on a temporary basis, with the London club able to offer him a greater chance of playing time than he currently has at Atletico.

However, a number of other sides are also keen on the Brazilian – who previously played for Swansea star Michu’s former club, Ray Vallecano.
