EA Sports’ FIFA series has been pretty good to us English football fans in recent years. From keeping all of the licenses and providing weekly form-based stat changes for players to creating a realistic Premier League and Football League experience in career mode, there’s been plenty to keep as all coming back each season.

One of the biggest developments in recent times has been the inclusion of licensed stadiums for all top tier teams, which have been kept on for relegated sides such as QPR. And there will be a new glamorous venue this year with West Ham’s London Stadium making it’s bow… and it looks AMAZING.

London Stadium In-Game

Excited? Well, you’re not the only ones. Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio have revealed that they’re thrilled with West Ham’s new home and are looking forward to playing there virtually on FIFA 17, too.

The pair, speaking on behalf of EA Sports FIFA 17, engaged in a Q&A on the subject, and here’s what they said:

Michail Antonio

What are your thoughts on the new stadium?

"It’s a great feeling to have 60,000 fans backing us, it’s going to be a great atmosphere to play in. It’s also huge for the club to have a stadium like this, it’s really impressive, we’re ambitious and want to compete at the highest level and hopefully over the next few years we’ll be challenging the big boys at the top."

Which game are you most looking forward to playing this season in your new home?

"The derby, the West ham vs. Tottenham derby. That is going to be an amazing day with a great atmosphere and fans are going to be all over it. Also, it is going to be a great game as both teams will want and think they can win it - it will be end-to-end stuff."

You’ve seen the stadium in the game. How does it compare to real life?

"The graphics are unbelievable. Since seeing a picture of it I can’t wait to play as myself and as West Ham on the game."

Cheikhou Kouyate

What are your thoughts on the club’s new home?

“It’s a very good stadium, it’s unbelievable. The stadium is very good for West Ham as we are now playing in Europe and want to carry this on in the future. We now have a nice stadium for these games, so we will have to wait and see what the future holds for the stadium."

Which game are you looking forward to playing the most?

"The derby game, they are always special."

You’ve seen the stadium in the game, how does it compare to real life?

"It looks fantastic, there isn’t much difference at all, it is amazing!"
