West Ham have been told to forget about signing long-term target Antonio Rudiger from Stuttgart, according to Sky Sports.
The 21-year-old centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to East London this summer as Hammers boss Sam Allardyce looks to strengthen his defensive options.
But Stuttgart manager Armin Veh has warned West Ham, as well as other clubs, that they will not consider selling the highly-rated German international.
He said: “Antonio Rudiger is under contract with our club.
“We have no interest in selling him, we have never considered that.”
West Ham were thought to be closing in on a £6million deal for Rudiger but appear to have been forced to look elsewhere for an adequate partner to Winston Reid next term.
Rudiger has been a target for a number of clubs across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04 and Newcastle.
