The experienced centre-back is set to be released when his current contract expires in a few months’ time, with Manuel Pellegrini’s reluctance to make his a first-team player having forced the 31-year-old into looking elsewhere for action.
West Ham were linked with a move for his services in January, but Lescott elected to stay put in a bid to end his time at City on a high with the quadruple a possibility at the time.
Sam Allardyce has since remained keen on him, and sees the former England international as a wise addition.
Lescott has bags of know-how in the English game, and has won every domestic prize on offer while at the Etihad Stadium.
Although Turkish side Beskitas are willing to surpass his £90,000-per-week salary, the Hammers are hopeful that the lure of staying in the Premier League may be enough to tempt him into taking a pay-cut to relocate to London.
Lescott himself is rumoured to be convinced that he still has much to offer, and may well be open to joining West Ham.
