After a fantastic yet unexpected 2-0 win away at Arsenal on the opening weekend, things were looking bright for West Ham as they looked to start life under new boss Slaven Bilic, and Saturday's victory away at Liverpool would have revitalised that optimism and belief.

However, the two weeks that followed the win at the Emirates should remind all Hammers fans that optimism should certainly be tinged with a bit of caution. The two back-to-back home defeats to Leicester and Bournemouth certainly halted Bilic's Hammers in their tracks, but that win at Anfield has got things going again.

And you would say that from the four games so far, the Hammers have the points they would have expected to get on the board from the games on paper, meaning that after all the games so far, Bilic's side can say that their start has been okay.

Nevertheless, the two games at Upton Park has been a complete mess for Bilic, as his side has looked incredibly un-organised and found themselves two goals down at half-time in both of these games, and against the Cherries, a further two goals were scored in the second half.

Conceding six goals in two home games is a real problem for Bilic. It shouldn't happen, especially after going to the Emirates and keeping a clean sheet and doing the same at Anfield.

But it has happened and Bilic has already said that "he will sort it out." For Hammers fans ,they will be hoping he can keep to that promise.

However, the West Ham faithful will need to be patient with Bilic. Not all new managers come in and get it right straight away. Some do, of course, but not always, and clearly for Bilic he will need time to get it right.

He hasn't got loads of time to get it right, obviously, due to the cut and thrust nature of the Premier League, but he'll be pleased that a strong end to the transfer window can set West Ham up ahead of Newcastle's visit after the international break.

Bilic knows that the wide areas is where he needed to strengthen before the end of the transfer window and he addressed that by signing Victor Moses from Chelsea and Michail Antonio of Nottingham Forest.

A wide player like Moses with real pace will allow his side to play far less narrow, be less reliant on the full-backs in attack and with good wingers Bilic will have options to play different formations too.

It has been a big transfer window for Bilic's West Ham and it should help the Hammers faithful give him some extra time to get it right at home this season.
