Of course no one will need to take the day off for travel, but there will be idiots who will take the day off in order to make a day of it and spend most of it in the pub before the game.

I was at the West Ham v Millwall game in the League Cup a couple of years ago, which was on a Tuesday night. Are you suggesting all that trouble was all down to rivalry and no excessive drinking was involved?

Also, most of the population won’t be going to West Ham v Tottenham on a Monday night, while there is no guarantee that the 35,000 fans who will be there will all have full time jobs.

Looks like I may have found some fact in that pile of rubbish.

Really?? I work all day on a monday as do most of the population. As its a local derby nobody will need to take the day of to travel, so unlikely anyone will be drinking all day.
