Liverpool target Arda Turan has confessed that he is keen to stay with Atletico Madrid beyond this summer.

The Premier League trio have been linked with the Turkish midfielder for some time, and were expected to test the La Liga side’s willingness to keep hold of him with bids in the coming months.

However, their hopes of tempting the 26-year-old to swap Spain for England have taken a hit, with Turan admitting that he is keen to stay at the Vicente Calderon:

“I feel happy and at peace here. It has been a very successful season for the team.” He told AS.

Turan helped Atletico to Spanish Cup success and Champions League qualification last season, which is thought to have tempted him to alter his stance, after previously suggesting that he would be open to a move.

As well as the Premier League trio, the likes of Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were believed to be interested in bringing him back to Turkey.

Atletico are under no pressure to sell Turan this summer, after receiving a whopping £50m fee from Monaco for Radamel Falcao.

This large sum has led to speculation that they may look to rival local rivals Real Madrid in their pursuit of Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez.
