Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is on the brink of a landmark 1,000 match achievement. Tomorrow’s match at Chelsea will see Wenger reach this milestone, and an interesting statistics chart has suffered this morning.

It compares Wenger’s first 999 games to Ferguson’s first 1,000 and shows that the Arsenal manager has a higher win percentage.

After Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement last summer at Man United, the United legend has set the milestone for longevity, and Wenger remains the only manager remotely close to the Scots record.

If the first 1,000 games are anything to go by, Wenger should be the next Premier League manager to set his name in the history books.
