Arsenal join Liverpool in race for non-League ace
The 18-year-old, who has been on trial with the Reds in recent weeks, is thought of as one of the finest talents outside of England’s top four divisions, and has attracted attention from a number of clubs.
Liverpool are believed to be keen to offer him a deal, but would rather keep him training at Melwood and wait until the end of the season to do so.
However, Arsenal are reportedly the latest club to contact Dulwich, asking about the availability of Carr.
The Gunners are believed to be keen to hijack any deal and beat London rivals Chelsea, who are also thought to be monitoring the situation, to his signature.
Dulwich boss Gavin Rose confirmed that there is much interest in Carr, hinting that a summer move could be likely:
“Arsenal and Chelsea want him in, which is feasible for us as he would still be able to play for us.
“The interest from Liverpool is firm, but that is quite similar with the London clubs.”
Former Reading youngster Carr has notched an impressive 23 goals in 23 appearances for Dulwich, alerting numerous Premier League and Championship clubs.
