Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham are among the clubs chasing wantaway Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Danish centre-back looks likely to leave Anfield before the transfer window closes following the signing of Dejan Lovren.

The big money Croatian is likely to compete with Mamadou Sakho and Martin Skrtel for a starting berth, which will leave Agger out in the cold.

It’s understood that he has confronted Brendan Rodgers about the situation, which looks set to climax in his sale.

Agger has been a Liverpool player since 2006, but his injury record has prevented him from nailing down a regular slot in the first XI and he is now desperate to get away and play regularly.

Barcelona had been mooted as a destination, but with Thomas Vermaelen the Spaniards’ latest signing a deal looks unlikely.

West Ham, Spurs and Arsenal are also in the battle, with the London trio all keen on the classy Scandinavian.

The Gunners appear to be the most likely suitors, but Sam Allardyce has been buoyed by Agger’s £10m price tag, while Tottenham are making contingency pans as their move for Mateo Musacchio stalls.

Yes please! Can’t remember there being much wrong with him? It just seems that Brenda doesn’t fancy him, and that’s his call. If he is available then we should sign him in a heartbeat! Hopefully a deal can be done.(loan deal with option to buy at end of season would be ideal). Cake and eat it springs to mind though! Ginge isn’t getting any younger and a more expansive style this year has seen him struggle. Also, three quality centre backs might persuade Reid of our ambition. Either way his signing would certainly signal a statement of intent! COYI!
