Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will not be keeping Kim Kallstrom at the club beyond his loan spell.

The Swedish international’s arrival was the Gunners’ only piece of business during the January transfer window, as he sealed a shock switch from Spartak Moscow.

His signature was greeted with much criticism from many fans, as he arrived carrying a back injury that saw him stuck on the sidelines for a month.

After recovering, the 31-year-old made his debut against Swansea and has gone on to make a further three outings – including the FA Cup semi-final, where he came off of the bench.

There has been little talk of the Scandinavian staying beyond his temporary spell, and Wenger has confirmed that he will not be keeping the midfielder:

“Kallstrom belongs to Moscow and will go back to Moscow,” he is quoted by the Daily Star.

Kallstrom may still feature another two times for Arsenal, with the London club still to play Norwich in the Premier League before their FA Cup Final clash with Hull.

The experienced midfielder has played for top clubs across Europe, including Lyon and Rennes in France.
