Daily Mail.

The 17-year-old Scot has been attracting the attention of a number of Premier League sides of late, with both Liverpool and Manchester United believed to have had scouts monitoring him in recent weeks.

Now the Gunners are set to send their own representatives north of the border to assess Gauld ahead of a potential January move.

The teenage ace has been earning rave reviews for his displays in the Scottish top tier, where he has even been compared to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

The attacking midfielder is thought to be ready to stay in his home country to develop, but that will not deter English sides from testing the waters with New Year offers.

Dundee United are thought to value their star man at around £6m, a fee that the likes of Arsenal, United and Liverpool won’t even flinch at for a player of Gauld’s quality and potential.

The starlet was in fine form last weekend, laying on assists for all four goals in his side’s win against Partick Thistle.

Scouts from top sides were believed to be in attendance, with rumours circulating that Real Madrid are also in the hunt.

Is Ryan Gauld really worth the hype? Should Arsenal move for his signature quickly?
