Auxerre striker Yaya SanogoArsenal are readying a summer move for Auxerre striker Yaya Sanogo, according to reports from The Metro.

Arsene Wenger is said to be looking at a number of transfer options ahead of the of the off-season, as he looks to build a squad capable of making a sustained charge for the Premier League title.

One man he has outlined is Sanogo, whose impressive performances in Ligue 2 have alerted a number of clubs from across Europe.

His return of seven goals in one week during February caught the attention of Wenger, who has seen his current cop of attacking stars fail to impress.

The Gunners have a history for unearthing young stars, and Sanogo has certainly gained a positive reputation of late.

At 6 ft. 3”, the French U-21 international is a powerful centre-forward, who matches his ability hold on up the play with a fierce eye goal.

Auxerre hold him in high regard, but will be unable to resist any advance from Arsenal with the player, likely, to be keen to demonstrate his skills at the highest level.

Despite having a number of forward options, Wenger is still said to be keen to build his attacking ranks, with Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud struggling to fill the void left by Robin van Persie’s move to Manchester United.
