Arsenal are understood to be keeping tabs on the ‘next Cesc Fabregas’, in Barcelona youngster Munir El Haddadi, according to the Metro.

The 18-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects to emerge from the famous Barcelona academy, and has already caught the attention of European giants Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich.

The Catalan giants have been as of yet unable to tie El Haddadi down to a long term contract, causing a host of top clubs – including the Gunners – to up their interest in the talented youngster.

Wenger is hopeful of completing the winger – who is also capable of playing in a central attacking role – will follow in the footsteps of Fabregas, and swap Spain for north London.

Wenger knows he will have to move quickly to complete the deal, with a  host of big spending clubs ready to offer El Haddadi lucrative contracts, whilst Barcelona have not given up hope of tying him to a long term deal at the Nou Camp.

Fabregas joined Arsenal from the Barcelona youth academy in 2003, going on to captain the club before completing a move back to the Nou Camp in the summer of 2011, in a deal worth over £30million.
