Arsenal are ready to sign Antonio Sanabria from the Barcelona academy, reports the Metro.

Wenger is keen to bring the 17-year-old to the Premier League, despite Sanabria playing for Barca’s youth teams.

Arsenal are confident of landing the Paraguayan youngster, but will face another row with Barca, having signed several starlets from the Nou Camp in recent years.

Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and famously Cesc Fabregas have all moved to Arsenal against Barca’s wishes, while Julio Pleguezuelo Selva has already made the switch this summer.

Barca have written a formal letter to the FA to complain, as Premier League sides are able to take advantage of Spanish contract law to sign players before they can be legally offered deals with La Liga clubs.

And it is this rule that could see Sanabria leave the Catalan giants for the Emirates, no matter how highly he is rated by Camp Nou chiefs. Arsenal will have to pay around £400,000 in compensation to secure the deal.

Antonio Sanabria made 4 appearances for Paraguay at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, where he impressed despite the nation getting knocked out by Iraq in extra time.

Sanabria could join Gonzalo Higuain in leaving La Liga for north London, with the Gunners keen to secure a deal for the Madrid forward as soon as possible.

Should Arsenal focus on signing youth? Do Barcelona have a right to complain?

I really hate it when other teams keep on buying players from my favorite team,Barcelona. Why are you buying youth from Barca when you have your own youth system? Is England’s youth so far behind that they have no option from there other than looking for talents overseas?
