Arsenal look to have beaten a host of Premier League rivals to the signing of young Swedish defender Kristopher De Graca, according to the Daily Star.

The 15-year-old – currently plying his trade in the Swedish fourth division with Hisingbacka FC – is set to join the Gunners at the end of the season after impressing during a trial.

The deal will be seen as a major coup for Arsene Wenger, considering Premier League rivals, Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa had also given the youngster trials.

But Da Graca has opted for the Emirates, and expressed his delight at the move.

“Arsenal are a big and good club,” he told Fotbolltransfers.com.

“I’ve had a chance to become a good soccer player, it feels good. At first though I will have to train with them in my own age.”

When asked about signing an official contract with the Gunners, he said: ”It could be next week or the following week.

“Moving to England is confirmed but not this year.

“I will move there the summer of 2014. Me and my dad wanted me to [get my] education first.”

Hisingbacka chairman Thoman Albinsson also confirmed the deal, adding he could not stand in the way of an excellent opportunity for the young defender.

“Yes, we are in full agreement with Arsenal. We had some discussions but now we are in agreement,” Albinsson said.

“One must think of the player as well and see more than just numbers. We are a pretty small club and do not want to stop him.

“We did get more than their initial offer, so to speak, and for a club in our division it is obviously good money. The agreement also increases on clauses. It is a package.”
