Arsenal are interested in making a summer swoop for Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah.

Highly rated England U-21 starlet Chalobah is currently on loan at Watford, and has been a valued part of the promotion chasing side managed by ex-Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola. He has played 27 times and scored 4 goals.

The youngster also has the potential to have a great future with the national team having already played over fifty times for the England youth team. Not only has he been captain but he also won England Youth player of the year last year.

Arsene Wenger is trying to turn around the recent misfortunes at the North London club and has been given cash to spend this summer. He admires Chalobah and sees him as part of the English element that he is trying to achieve with Arsenal and also likes that he can play as a centre-back and a midfielder. Wenger believes he can attract the Blues youth by offering him first team football – something he wouldn’t be guaranteed at Chelsea with plenty of big Premier League names to compete with.

Chalobah has been with Chelsea since he was a teenager and has a contract that will expire in the summer of 2014. Chelsea are thought to be very interested in keeping the youngster and won’t be willing to sell easily – especially to their London rivals.
