Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a loan move for Juventus’ Sebastian Giovinco following news that Theo Walcott will miss the remainder of the season through injury, according to reports from The Metro.

The England international is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after damaging his knee in the Gunners’ FA Cup win over Tottenham, and his boss is worried that a lack of options may harm their title push.

Giovinco has emerged as a genuine replacement for the injured Walcott, with the Italian ace currently out of favour in Turin.

The 26-year-old has been in and out of the Old Lady’s first-team this term, making ony two starts.

This has alerted Wenger, who is hopeful that the promise of regular action may tempt the impish playmaker ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

It remains unclear as to whether or not Juve would be willing to sanction a deal, with injuries possessing the potential to see Giovinco return to the starting XI.

However the player himself may be tempted to push for a switch in a bid to get his career back on track.
