Arsene Wenger has been rocked by the news that two midfielders have suffered injury setbacks, according to the Daily Star.

Arsenal‘s January loan signing Kim Kallstrom is unlikely to be fit to make his debut for at least another two months, whilst Aaron Ramsey is not expected to return to first team action until the end of March.

Ramsey has just returned from a break in Dubai, in the hope it would speed up his recovery from a thigh injury, however the Gunners have little confidence he will be fit to return before the end of next month

Wenger recently ruled the Welsh midfielder – who has been one of the standout players for Arsenal this season – out of action for six weeks, but it is believed the club privately fears his road to recovery could take even longer.

There is no better news with regards to the fitness of Swedish international Kim Kallstrom, who signed on loan from Spartak Moscow on deadline day.

Wenger admitted he knew at the time he signed the 31-year-old he was struggling with a  ‘micro-fracture’ of his back, but claimed he would be fit in six weeks.

However, sources claim the Gunners only January signing will not be ready for action for at least two months.

Wenger has however been boosted by the news that Mikel Arteta will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Liverpool, having suffered a minor knock during the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
