Arsenal are ready to launch a £17m move for Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne if he impresses at this summer’s World Cup, according to reports from The Metro.

The 23-year-old made it into Italy’s 23-man squad to travel to Brazil on the back of an impressive season in Serie A, and is expected to play some part in the tournament.

Arsene Wenger is known to be in the market for attacking additions in the coming months, with Insigne one of his favoured targets.

Although the Frenchman is keen, he does want to see how the versatile wide-man performs in South America before committing to a swoop.

Arsenal scouts at the tournament will be keeping a close eye on Insigne and if he impresses a £17m offer may well be on the cards.

Napoli themselves are desperate to hold onto their star, yet the money on offer from the Londoners may be too good to turn down.

Arsenal have also been linked with a host of other big names, such as Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

But one player they will not be moving for is former captain Cesc Fabregas, who may well join Chelsea.
