Arsenal are considering a double raid on Newcastle for Yohan Cabaye and Davide Santon, according to reports from TuttoMercato.

The Magpies double act have been in excellent form so far this season, and are both considered to be key men in Alan Pardew’s side.

Arsene Wenger has been alerted by their recent displays, and is rumoured to see both players as potential January arrivals at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were linked with Cabaye over the summer, but failed with an offer for the playmaker as the ‘Toon’ held firm to keep their man.

They have since remained keen on the silky passer, and are said to be pondering a fresh move for his signature.

Santon is also a target, with the Italian full-back having established himself as a solid Premier League defender.

The 23-year-old has suffered with injuries throughout his career, but is now enjoying an extended spell of fitness which has yielded a number of good displays.

Wenger is keen to bolster his rearguard, and sees the man once compared to Azzurri icon Paolo Maldini as a wise addition.
