The Gunners were linked with a move for the French international over the summer, but the player himself refused to pursue a switch away from the Bernabeu.

However, his future still remains the subject of much doubt, with Real thought to be keen to sell in order to fund a move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

Arsenal have remained interested, and according to respected football agent Francois Gallardo an unnamed English side, believed to be the Londoners, are set to launch a huge move for Benzema this winter:

“A very important Premier League club is after Karim,” he said.

“This club wants the transfer to happen this winter, but if this is not possible, then next summer at the latest.

“The offer will be around €50million [£43million].”

Benzema would be the second player to swap Real for Arsenal in recent times if he does move, with Mesut Ozil having completed a deadline day switch to the Emirates Stadium over the summer.

Arsene Wenger is set to be backed financially once again in order to keep his side in the title race.

Could Karim Benzema fire Arsenal to the title?
