Arsenal are considering a summer move for Burnley defender Kieran Trippier, according to reports from the Sunday People.

The 23-year-old has starred in the Clarets’ Championship campaign this season, and looks to have helped them to certain promotion to the top tier.

Although Danny Ings has been grabbing the majority of the headlines at Turf Moor, Trippier has caught Arsene Wenger’s attention as he plots for the potential loss of Bacary Sagna.

A new right-back is needed at the Emirates Stadium with the French ace looking likely to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in a few months’ time.

Trippier could be brought in as a direct replacement or to provide back-up for a more experienced target, with the 23-year-old having flourished since leaving Manchester City to join Burnley permanently in 2012.

Sean Dyche is unlikely to be keen to lose his man, and may be hopeful that the promise of top tier action will be enough to keep the youngster for at least another season.

Meanwhile Arsenal may ditch veteran midfielder Mikel Arteta at the end of the season, with former club Everton monitoring the situation.
