El Mundo Deportivo.

The La Liga giants are shopping for a long-term replacement for current talisman Xavi and are believed to be drawing up a list of potential successors to the World Cup winning playmaker.

Wilshere is one of their desired options following his emergence as one of the Premier League’s finest talents.

The 21-year-old has overcome a series of injury setbacks to develop into one of the London club’s top players and has been tipped to do the same for his country.

Barca are attracted to his on-field presence and technical ability – which was on display as he netted, arguably, the goal of the season so far during Arsenal’s weekend win.

The Catalan club have a history of snapping up the Gunners’ top players, having swooped for Thierry Henry, Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas in recent years.

They hope that he could form an exciting midfield trio with his former Emirates Stadium team-mate and Andre Iniesta.

As well as Wilshere, Borussia Dortmund ace Ilkay Gundogan and Koke of Atletico Madrid are also believed to be targets.

Should Jack WIlshere pursue a move to Barcelona? Or would staying at Arsenal be his best option?
