Thanks for your reply Mihir. Perhaps he’s only keen because Arsenal are the best team on offer. If you asked him who his favourite team to join would be, he might say Barca or the like. But as you rightly said, if i’m correct in my assumption, transfers sometimes happen when players don’t have a huge choice.

anyway….i got into this discussion just because i am an arsenal fan and i would like huntelaar to join us….so i think you’d understand my curiosity..
so let’s hope he does join!

i appreciate that you spent your precious time in giving me a reply…
and i agree with you…
but still i feel that i don’t see anything that shows that huntelaar is actually interested in joining arsenal..
many transfers happen with the players NOT really keen on them to happen..
and meijer said that he has information to suggest that he will move to arsenal..but he doesn’t say that huntelaar wants to move….
which i think was my point….cause if huntelaar really was interested…meijer would have disclosed that part too…

apart from this….i am really impressed by the manner of your reply…and i’ll surely stay tuned to this site for further info!

Appreciate the constructive criticism Mihir. The article clearly states that information of his interest comes from an inside source close to Huntelaar’s agent, Oosterveer. The inside man is former Liverpool striker and fellow Dutchman Erik Meijer. I’ve quoted Meijer directly as saying that Huntelaar is on the move in January, and then paraphrased his comment that Meijer knows Arsenal is his preferred destination. Don’t forget that they share an agent, and agents and players like to talk, it’s only natural and human. I noted in the article that ‘Arsenal are his favoured destination.’ Meijer’s direct quote is ‘Arsenal are the favourites.’ As you can see there’s not much disparity between the two quotes. Also, this is a news piece, not opinion, and as I’ve just shown I’ve reported the news accurately. I hope that was the calm reply you asked for. But may I suggest that next time you not read transfer speculation with such mistrust. The nature of speculation, hearsay and ‘people talking’ is always going to be a kind of grey area.

this is for the writer….
first of all…this news has been doing the rounds for over a week now…i don’t know why you want to write what’s already known….i would suggest you write about if huntelaar will be good for arsenal or something like that…
and secondly….

i read the whole article….but i didn’t read huntelaar say ‘i want to join arsenal’
so please stop manipulating the headline…
it may attract readers the first time…but then they’ll know that the headline is never true…
so you lose your viewership…
this is just a suggestion….by the way…nothing to get angry and start abusing…!

Not sure you have a clue what your talking about. Wenger saw potential in Henry and signed him from Juve where he was a winger and made him into 1 of the best strikers the world has ever seen. Wenger took Adebayor and made him look like a star and so far no other manager has succeeded in getting the best out of him like wenger did. Wenger bought a trouble making RVP who was a winger who had fallen out of out of favor due to disciplinary problems and brought him to arsenal deployed him on the right wing where I beleive he scoed on his debut and in his 3rd game as well and transformed him just like Henry Into 1 of the best strikers in the world. Now what are you talking about sir? I fyou hadnt noticed we have a habit of transforming rough diamonds into stars because of wenger the big problem is we dont keep them but they will all tell you wenger helped them to achieve their full potential. Ask Nasri who is a big disappointment for City. He cannot replicate the form he had at ARSENAL. Ask so many like flamini who saw their names in the headlines and left because we made them look better than they really were and left and have fallen by the way side. Spectrum your an idiot. Everyone knows Arsene Wenger knows how to groom players into stars. We dont buy stars we make them. Even my Manchester United friends rate Wenger highly and some even more than Sir Alex.

Huntelaar would be a great signing. He’s sharp, has great movement, and is a prolific scorer in both the league and for his national team.

But under Wenger he’d probably be played on the wing, or otherwise wasted.If we had a competent manager who knows his tactics and can get the best out of players,then I’d be all for it.But we don’t. With Wenger gone,then by all means let’s go for Huntelaar .But rather than a team of stars, we need a star TEAM.On results so far, that hasn’t been, and still isn’t the case. And after eight years you have to wonder why. The answer is clear ; “In Arsene we rust.”
