Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has dismissed rumours linking Julian Draxler with a Premier League as just “wild speculation”.

Arsenal are said to be particularly interested in the 20-year-old, with some reports having suggested that a big money bid could be lodged before the end of the month following a series of injuries at the Emirates Stadium.

As well as the Gunners, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been tentatively linked with the midfielder, who is widely regarded as one of European football’s finest young talents.

But, Draxler – who is thought to have a £40m release clause in his contract – is not going anywhere according to Heldt, who says that there have been no formal approaches for his starlet from English clubs.

“(it is) wild speculation,” he told the Daily Star.

“I am not aware that Julian would like to leave us, neither in the winter nor in summer.

“There is no question of a bid regarding Julian. At the end of it, it’s wild speculation, which takes place over there in England.

“The clubs would have to report to us if they were interested.”

Draxler has already declared that he is interested in playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs in the future, which could open up a possible move in the summer.
