Although Germany beat Chile 1-0 on Wednesday night, Germany manager Joachim Loew should be far from happy with the overall performance of his team. Chile took the game to Germany and managed to come away with a quality performance, despite the score line.

However, boos and jeers were targeted at Arsenal‘s Mesut Ozil as he exited the pitch in the 89th minute, even though his assist led to Mario Gotze’s goal. Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff criticised the fans for singling out Ozil as the cause of blame.

He said: “At the present time, and with the score, I did not understand the whistles [aimed at Ozil]. I find it a pity that such a player like Mesut is singled out.”

A compilation of Ozil’s form throughout the game can be viewed below. Maybe it’s time he needed some assisting for a change…
