Arsenal‘s new Puma kit for next season appears to have been leaked by former British Olympic gold medal winning athlete Linford Christie, according to the Daily Mail.

Christie tweeted a picture of Arsenal legend and fellow Puma ambassador Thierry Henry sporting the new strip. Olivier Giroud and Bacary Sagna were also in the picture.

Arsenal agreed the most lucrative kit contract in British football with Puma back in May, in a deal that is set to earn the club £30million over five years from the end of this season.

Christie – who famously won Olympic gold in the 100 metres in Barcelona in 1992 – quickly deleted the image from his account, but by that time it had already gone viral.

Arsenal’s deal with Puma is set to beat Liverpool’s £25million deal with American sports brand Warrior, and is set to end their 20-year-association with Nike, whose strips they have been wearing since 1994.

The Nike contract is said to be worth £55million over seven years, while Manchester United’s 15-year-contract with the American sports brand amounts to £287million.
