The modern Premier League is hardly an institution associated with patience and long term thinking. Countless managers have lost confidence in players on the back of a bad run of form, and even more boardrooms have lost patience with managers inside a matter of months.

Need I mention poor old Roberto Di Matteo who got kicked out of the Stamford Bridge hot-seat less than six months after he won an impressive Champions League and FA Cup double?

So when was the last time someone was as highly rewarded for persistence as Mr. Arsene Wenger currently is being, with the mocked and ridiculed Aaron Ramsey who just happens find it fit to be the Premier League’s current best player? The stats back the claim: Ramsey is the top tackler, passer and scorer in the league this season.

The Welshman has in fact squeezed England golden boy Jack Wilshere out of his favorite position.

So it’s refreshing to see pundits Carra and G.Nev applaud Arsenal, both the board for their trust in Wenger and Wenger for his patience with Ramsey, for sticking to a long term plan.

And who knows, perhaps Arsenal’s reward for persistence comes in the form of silverware by the end of the season?
