Fulham travelled to the Emirates this afternoon to take on Arsenal in a Premier League clash. The Cottagers were keen to positively respond to last week’s 4-1 thumping at the hands of Sunderland, whilst the home side had their eyes set on all three points to stay ahead of the pack at the top of the Premier League table.

After an incredibly quiet first half, Gunners midfielder Santi Cazorla found two goals in the space of five minutes in the second 45, sealing victory for the North Londoners in what was otherwise a rather stale affair.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the key moments;

In the first half both sides traded possession without really penetrating. But Fulham had the best chance of the half as Wojciech Szcezney kept Steve Sidwell at bay
And down the other end, Sagna had a decent effort from a rebounded free-kick, but Fulham’s Maarten Stekelenberg made a smart save, and then followed up to deny Olivier Giroud.

After the interval, Arsenal were lucky to not go behind after some dodgy defending from a Fulham Corner.
Serge Gnabry then launched a left-footed curler after 53 minutes that looked destined for the net…

After an hour, the Gunners had 16 attempts at goal, in comparison to just three from Fulham. And minutes later, the Spaniard netted another. This one from just outside the box.

Lukas Podolski then came on for Serge Gnabry, and almost instantly had a long-range left footed effort turned onto the woodwork.
And in stoppage time, Darren Bent scuffs an absolute sitter that should have been a consolation goal for the West London outfit…
