I do think Gervinho gets a slightly raw deal from Arsenal fans, but considering he’s scored just seven goals in 41 appearances, and in a number of those games he’s played as a striker, it’s fair to say that he’s under-performed since arriving at the Emirates in 2011.
The only problem is, Arsenal fans have seen it all before. After some dismal performances this season, Arsene Wenger will most likely send the Ivorian winger out on loan for a few seasons until his contract runs down or he can find a buyer for the 25 year old.
But surely it would be better, and far cheaper to shift him in the summer, even if a loss is made on the £10million Wenger paid for him just two years ago simply to get this boo-boy out of the club.
He’s proved that on his day he’s a capable attacker, and he got six assists in his first season. Someone out there must want him, even if the Arsenal faithful clearly don’t.
