Lukasz Piszczek has become an integral cog in a Borussia Dortmund side who’ve won the Bundesliga title two years in a row.
Unlike most of the candidates on this list, the Polish international, who has 31 caps for his country, emphasises his game around attack rather than defence, and can also play in right midfield.
The 27-year-old already has six assists so far this campaign, and makes up for what he lacks in defending when he has the ball at his feet.
Piszczek would fit the Arsenal mould well, and also provide some added work-rate to an often rather static midfield and back line. On the other hand, he would do little to solve the Gunners’ defensive woes. Although measuring at 6 foot, he would give them some much needed height when defending set pieces.
