So we have reached the end of what has actually been a very good week for England – ridiculous racism allegation against Roy Hodgson aside.

Two victories, six points, and qualification for next summers World Cup in Brazil is exactly what we were hoping for from the international break.

And England even played some relatively exciting football for good measure.

And at the centre of it all, is Tottenham winger Andros Townsend. The surprise gamble from Hodgson that proved to be a master stroke, with a stunning goal and man of the match performance against Montenegro, and another good showing in the nail biting 2-0 win over Poland.

A man who spent last season on loan at relegated QPR has come from nowhere, and looks to have made the number 7 shirt his own in just two games.

So does this mean goodbye to Theo Walcott?

Everyone’s favourite nearly man looks as though he knows it, and is being comforted by Keiran Gibbs who is possibly saying:

“Don’t worry mate, I’ve got no chance of going to Brazil either!”
