To go on about who plays 442 is not the point I don't think. Sides that play on the break often play with smaller quicker strikers through the middle so they can be released on the counter attack. Arsenal's approach is to monopolize possession and opposition defences therefore sit a lot deeper so the centre forward is more useful if he can hold the ball up. Walcott is never going to be that type of player. Look how good he was against spurs when he was played from a wider position.

Also Walcott's 'unselfishness' if you can call it that, is still an issue. I watch arsenal every week and so often he will look to pass rather than shoot. That is ideal for a wide player, but if he wants to play centrally then he needs to be more decisive.

For what its worth I think we should keep him, but there are plenty of clubs where he could get regular first team football in his preferred position, so we'll have to see.

"Walcott could never be lambasted for being a selfish player, as frequently he shies away from striking at goal, choosing instead to pass to a team-mate."

Don't know what you're watching. Theo more often chooses to shoot these days regardless. Could have beaten Schalke if he'd done that in the last minute.

"Like Walcott, Henry was initially deployed as a wide player under Wenger, before moving inside and becoming one of the most fearsome strikers in world football. However, Henry was a consistently Arsenal’s leading scorer during his time at Arsenal".

Henry was a wide player under Wenger BEFORE he joined Arsenal, but was always played up front since he joined, so it's not really fair to compare goalscoring records.

"Walcott has frequently stated he would be disappointed if he had to leave Arsenal, but his best chance at moving centrally as a striker may be found by moving on from the Emirates."

Where could he go? In England which successful club regularly plays 4-4-2? Man Utd perhaps, but I don't see that move happening and I doubt he'd play regularly there from the off. If he left now his situation could only get worse as he'd either be stuck on the wing as he is now or find himself more often relegated to the bench. He has an important role at Arsenal currently and Wenger has it in his mind to find a way to play Theo up front more often, so any sort of move away would carry an enourmous risk for him.
