Further signs are appearing that Arsenal star Theo Walcott could be on his way out, after reportedly not being included in a major contract push at the club.

Wenger is negotiating improved deals for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Emmanuel Frimpong and Kieran Gibbs, but apparently not Walcott.

The England international’s contract is in its last year, and he has already rejected a potential deal, that would have seen him get a weekly salary of £75,000. He has also in the past made clear of his intention to be a main striker.

It was rumoured earlier this week that Walcott is being targeted by Serie A giants Juventus, while Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are also mooted to be interested. However Gunners boss Wenger has said he wants Walcott to stay, saying: “my determination has always been the same – to extend his contract.”

Despite this, Wenger admitted that negotiations are not yet over, and has said that “there is no news.”

However, Arsenal are reportedly moving things along with sorting out extending the contracts of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frimpong and Gibbs.

Negotiations have started for Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign for five years, while extensions are being negotiated for Frimpong and Gibbs, though even if Frimpong ends up signing a fresh deal could be given a loan move to aid his progress. It has also been reported that the Gunners may attach image rights with the deals, something they have not done before.

Wenger gave signs this week that Walcott, who has been missing games through injury could return soon saying: “Theo had his first run. He looked quite good and should be back shortly.” However, Steve Bould, the assistant coach, said last night that Walcott would not play QPR in the Gunners’ Premier League clash this weekend.
