Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his current crop of striker will be enough to get the club into the top four.

The Gunners lost Robin van Persie to Premier League rivals Manchester City over the summer, and have, as of yet, failed to secure an adequate replacement.

Both Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski were drafted in to fill the void left by the Dutchman, but whilst they have impressed at times, the duo have lacked consistency.

This has led to speculation that the Frenchman may delve into the January transfer market to bring in a guaranteed source of goals, but he is adamant that he has all the firepower he needs:

“As numbers we have enough. We have plenty of quality strikers. We could do with top quality, one more, but you have to find him.” He is quoted by The Mirror.

“No (I don’t see it as a problem). When you speak about ‘anyone’ coming in, I could just go out and buy anyone just to give people hope.

“What is important is that you bring in players who can strengthen your team, or you do nothing and are strong enough to do nothing.”

With Theo Walcott’s future resolved and Giroud appearing to have adjusted to the Premier League, Wenger feels that his attacking options will be strong for the latter half of the season:

“If Walcott had left, everybody would have said, ‘You lost a top striker.’

“Giroud is getting there, I believe. He has started 11 Premier League games and scored eight goals. In all competitions he has 14 goals. Overall, he is slowly getting there.

“If you look at the number of goals we’ve scored, we’ve scored more than last year, when we had the best striker in the Premier League. That means the players who play have some qualities to score goals.”

Wenger should be sacked for gross negligence. We don’t just need a striker. We need a defensive midfielder ( STILL ), a left back, a goalkeeper to provide competition for Chesney, and maybe even a right back, seeing as how Sagna is not the player he was. These are minimum requirements.

What is wrong with Diame, available for a mere 3.5 million ( if we paid his buy out clause ) ? Can’t we even afford 3.5 mill ? What are we – Shrewsbury – F.F.S.? How come other clubs have no trouble signing players that can improve them ? Wenger never intended to sign anyone. All the talk of transfer targets like Villa e.t.c. is just to make us think he’s doing something. It’s all a ruse. He wants to recklessly gamble that our squad has enough depth to handle the inevitable injuries and out of form players. This is the exact same situation as last year, and he learns nothing.

He prefers relying on kids, to buying proven experienced talent that could make a difference between winning something or not.We all know it, but he refuses to change his approach, despite it leading nowhere year after year. How much longer do you A.K.B. morons want before you realise he and the board are conning you ?

Of course not.It was assigned to me, as it is for everyone on here. Got anything to contribute, or are you happy with your club going down the toilet?

By the way, speaking of Man. United – great move by Wenger to sell Van Persie to them, don’t you think ? Maybe that’s your trouble – you don’t think.
