Yes of course, Frank Arnesen, the signings he made, the fact Modric et al were all at the club pre-Redknapp shouldn't ever be underestimated. And you won't find many more critical of the Range Rover window loving man on this site than myself. Although for sake of a comparison point within the article, surely the real catalyst of the relatively recent renaissance was the Redknapp era.

Stopped reading when I got to the 'their recent renaissance under Harry Redknapp'.
Spurs haven't had a 'recent renaissance under Harry Redknapp' - they have been through a process of change that began with the appointment of Frank Arnesen in 2005, when the chairman took a moratorium after the sacking of Glenn Hoddle to nivestigate the management and development situation more fully.

This led to two top five finished under Martil Jol, as you acknowledge (with one that should have been 4th but for some dodgy lasagna and even mroe dodgy decision making from the FA, and their members on the arsen*l board and announced from the stadium steps of the Arsen*l game.

It wasn't 'all' due to Harry Redknapp. he inherited a fantastic young squad. He did well, and knew exactly what to bring to it. But it is simplistic to imagine that the turn-around in fortunes was just the result of one good manager.
